Well, a lot of things have happened in Skip Beat... Um... In short, it's about
how Kyouko works towards her goal- to become an actress. It's not like those
stories in which a girl wants to become a celebrity and just becomes one easily;
Kyouko works hard to achieve her goal. Also, her motive is not like what you
would expect from a Shoujo manga (e.g. a girl wants to become a singer because
it's always been her dream or a girl wants to become a celebrity to be closer to
some celebrity guy...); Kyouko's motive is to revenge. Another thing I like
about this story is that Kyouko is quite independent; Skip Beat is not like most
Shoujo manga in which whenever the main female character runs into a problem or
encounters hardship, there’s always a
guy who would give her strength or comfort her.
From what I said, it may sound kind of boring
(I'm not good at giving summaries... Also, I don't want to give you too much
spoilers ~~~ Anyways, I find this manga quite captivating, and it's funny too
~~~
